We discovered 17-year-old Maryam under a bridge in Capital city. She lost her parents in a civil war in Afghanistan and went to live with her grandmother. Unfortunately, her grandmother was no longer able to support her so Maryam was forced onto the streets to earn money. She was soon hunted by a group of Mafia and was being used as a drug seller. During this period, she became addicted to drugs. Maryam continues to live on the streets with no shelter, food, or care and without hope for her future. Maryam agreed to let us interview her.
